Loiseau Returns April 18th in Montreal Posted by david 14/01/09 7:21pm story courtesy of MMACanada.net
![]() Charles R- One of the greatest middleweights of all time, David The Crow Loiseau returns to the octagon on April 18th at UFC 97 in Montreal Quebec. I sat down with David immediately following his contract signing in which he will return to fight former TUF competitor Ed Herman. Q) MMACanada.net here with David Loiseau, so Dave, the big news has arrived. You will be returning to the UFC on April 18th, not only are you fighting Ed Herman, but your returning to fight in your hometown of Montreal Quebec. Explain how excited and happy you are to return to the biggest organization in the world? A) Feels great man.The UFC is where I belong and it feels great to be back. It was a loooong, tough road back. But it was all worth it. We going from the darkness to the light baby! Q) Its been about 2 years since you last stepped into the octagon. Many considered and still do consider you a top middleweight and an amazing fighter with lots of talent. You provided such crazy highlight reels. However in your last 2 fights you lost and the UFC dropped you, now your given a big chance to prove yourself. What are you going to do this time to prove to all the UFC middleweights that The Crow is back? A)There will always be critics out there. Im simply gonna fight the way Ive been fighting lately wich is very exciting, agressive and effective. I just do what my trainers tell me to do. Its like a videogame. They just push the buttons! Q) Alright so lets get into your fight with Ed herman. Ed is a crafty fighter who has alot of experience under his belt. What are your thoughts on returning to fight a fighter like Ed Herman? A)Its great. Everyone in the UFC is a crafty fighter with lots of experience.I really like the challenge. I think he s a very good fighter and it will be a great fight. Q) Ed Herman will be in the best shape of his life for this fight, knowing that the UFC is a dream to fight for and that opportunities like this are given once in a lifetime. If you had one line to deliver to Ed Herman while he reads this, what would you like to say to him? A)Good luck Q) Random question, who are you having in your corner for this fight? Since GSP is reportedly not fighting on the card, will he be there to support you in your corner? A)My corner consists of Firas Zahabi,Greg Jackson and Jonathan Chaimberg and Steve Claveau. Q) You have been impressive in your last few fights, KOing Andrew Buckland and TKOing Soloman Hutcherson. You spoke about how your training has been different and the caliber of trainers you have is what shows in your fights. What have you done differently to improve mentally and physically and who has been responsible for helping you achieve that? A)well, you re only as good as your training partners. And mine are very good. Im very grateful to have such world class training partners and coaches. Probably the nicests group of guys too... Q) What are your thoughts on fellow training partners and friends, Denis Kang and Patrick Cote. They are both in your division, if the UFC asked you to fight any of them, is their a possibility of that happening? A)Nah man. I dont fight friends. Even if they have the belt I wont fight them. Thats not my thing. Q) David, how does it feel to be able to once again contribute to Canadas talent in the mainstream world of mma? A)Feels great. Im very happy to be back in the big show. Q) David, we along with the rest of the many Canadian fans wish you the best of luck on April 18th in Montreal as you return to the octagon! Anyone you would like to thank? A)Id like to thank God first and foremost. My family, friends, teammates and trainers that are simply amazing. My sponsors MMAFIGHTSHOP.CA, NAKEDEYE magazine,TAPOUT and Staredown fightwear. And also a BIG thank you to all my fans! you guys are the best. Kang will be making his long-awaited UFC debut at UFC 93 against very tough Thai specialist Allan Belcher (13-5). Belcher holds wins over TUF veteran Ed Herman, Kalib Starnes and Jorge Santiago.
